The preanalytical phase, which includes patient preparation, sample collection, storage, and transport, is crucial for the accuracy of laboratory results. Errors during this phase can compromise both diagnosis and treatment. The laboratory professional plays a key role, ensuring adherence to guidelines and quality standards through his technical, communicative, and managerial skills. Patient preparation, which encompasses fasting compliance and physical activity management, directly affects sample quality. Urine sample collection and handling require particular attention, considering factors such as collection time, storage conditions, and transport procedures. Effective communication among laboratory professionals, clinicians, and patients is essential to minimize errors and optimize sample management. Utilizing digital tools and tailoring content to the audience are fundamental for clear and comprehensive communication.
