Photoprotection: how, when and why

After a short introduction on the electromagnetic radiations and enviromental factors which may change their behaviour, in the “General Section”, topical and systemic photoprotection and photo(chemio)protection are analyzed, with particular regard to sunscreens. In the “Special Section”, suggestions on photoprotection in idiopathic photodermatoses, in some genodermatoses and autoimmune diseases, and in some photoaggravated photodermatoses are presented. Suggestions for a corrrect photoprotection after cosmetic and surgical treatments are then supplied.
