DESCRIZIONE

This textbook is designed to serve as a basic resource for clinicians treating “aortic” patients. The aim is to guarantee knowledge of the fundamental theoretical principles and to provide indications on the practical conventional management, or increasingly innovative therapy relating to aortic pathology. Over the years, all physicians have tried to develop treatment strategies which are as non-invasive as possible. No field exemplifies the spectacular progress towards this goal better than the realm of vascular and endovascular aortic therapies. Only by close collaboration between the various specialists, considering the clinical and anatomical aspects, the risk factors and the natural history of the aortic pathology, can the patient be offered the most appropriate therapeutic strategy. The Authors provide with this book quick references with a highly practical and useful approach for students and physicians who wish to gain greater insight into this particular field and to learn how to identify the different presentations of the disease, choose the most appropriate therapeutic strategies, and apply these, swiftly and with ease. We think that the “beauty” of this book lies, as in jazz, in the ensemble of specialists who work daily with aortic pathology, each in their niche, who have offered their experience without equal, and who have found their turnaround in the patient’s health.
