Carotid artery stenting (CAS) is a rapidly evolving method to revascularize carotid artery disease. However, despite the recent improvements in the materials and techniques, significant complications may still occur during the procedure. In this review the frequency, etiology, prevention and management of complications related to carotid artery stenting are described.
