Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a particular type of pancreatitis of presumed autoimmune etiology. Currently, AIP should be diagnosed based on combination of clinical, serological, radiological, and histopathological features. When diagnosing AIP, it is most important to differentiate it from pancreatic cancer. The authors reported the case of a man with autoimmune pancreatitis associated to a rare complication: aortitis. The patient presents all the peculiar radiological features of the pathology. In fact, the computed tomography demonstrates an enlarged and hypodense pancreas (“sausage-shaped” appearance) and thickened abdominal aortic wall.
