The ­primed in ­situ label­ing (­PRINS) tech­nique is an alter­na­tive meth­od to the tra­di­tion­al Fluorescent in Situ Hybridization tech­nique ( ­FISH ) for chro­mo­some anom­a­lyes iden­tifi­ca­tion. We devel­oped a new sim­pli­fied ­PRINS pro­to­col and ­applied it to ­detect DNA ­alfoid sequenc­es of chro­mo­somes 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 21, 22, X and Y, ­either on ­meta-­phase ­spreads and inter­phase ­nuclei. This mod­i­fied pro­to­col ­makes ­PRINS meth­od ­more rap­id for detect­ing chro­mo­so­mal aneu­ploid­ies.
