Preimplant GBR in severe horizontal bone defect of a single tooth rehabilitation using “sausage technique”

The alveolar ridge resorption after a tooth extraction is an inevitable process characterized by morphological alterations in both soft tissues and bone. This process can be so important that it prevents implant placement even in a single tooth extraction site. Therefore, it is necessary to use bone regeneration techniques that guarantee fewer postoperative complications, reduction of morbidity, rapid treatments and low costs. GBR using the “sausage technique” is a quick and effective tool to increase the horizontal bone share in order to allow correct insertion of the implant fixture and consequently excellent prosthesis of the single dental element.
