Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a worldwide healthcare problem. Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) is the main route of transmission. Immunoprophylaxis has been shown to contain the spread of HBV and pregnant women with chronic HBV infection require specialized hepatitis B management. We report a family with history of HBV infection, in which mother to child transmission was prevented on the second generation neonates under the use of tenofovir.
