Centella asiatica (CA) is widely used as a medicinal herb in Indian, Chinese and other traditional Far-Eastern medicines. On the other hand, in Western medicine, CA is mainly used as highly purified standardized extracts enriched in triterpenes (e.g. TTFA, CAST). We discuss here our experience with the use of CA extracts with a focus on vascular conditions. Moreover, we report the preliminary results of a registry study showing their lack of pharmacological interaction with a number of antiplatelet and anticoagulation agents commonly used in clinical practice.
