An unexpected cause of acute pancreatitis: postcholecystectomy cystic duct stump stone

Postcholecystectomy syndrome is a well-recognized entity, but cystic duct stump stone leading to acute pancreatitis is a rare phenomenon. Herein we are describing a 48-year-lady who had history of open cholecystectomy three years back and presented with acute pancreatitis. MRCP revealed stone in cystic duct. Laparoscopy converted to open excision of the stump was done.
