Balloon compression hemostasis using Foley urinary catheter in VATS for pleural dome tumor

We present here the balloon compression hemostasis using urinary balloon catheter in video-assisted thoracic surgery. Inflating the balloon in the pleural cavity allows certain planar hemostasis area beyond the port size. Compression hemostasis urinary balloon catheter has a lower risk of vascular and nerve injury than cauterization hemostasis and is particularly advantageous for oozy bleeding of the pleural dome.
