Intracardiac operation concomitant with extra-anatomic bypass for complex aorta coarctation

Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, The Affiliated Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School, Nanjing, China
One 67-year-old male patient had presented with symptoms as dyspnea and dizzy on exertion, severe intermittent claudication and abdominal pain. The echocardiology and computed tomography scan revealed severe aortic valve regurgitation and complex aorta coarctation with stenosis located in descending aorta and abdominal aorta. The patient underwent operation by aortic valve replacement concomitant with ascending aorta to bilateral femoral artery bypass and recovered successfully after operation. This case with complex aortic coarctation was rare and difficult for treating with intra-cardiac operation at the same time.
