Esophageal foreign bodies are encountered more often in childhood but can also be seen in the elderly. In particular, accidental ingestion of foreign bodies is not rare in adult individuals with mental retardation or psychiatric disorders. Dental appliances can be a not so rare accidental esophageal foreign body, especially in the elderly population with decreased oral sensory perception. We present a case of successful endoscopic removal of dental prosthesis impacted in the upper cervical esophagus.
