BACKGROUND: Superficial femoral atherosclerosis is a common disease observed by vascular surgeons and occurs in 10% of the general population. With the development and progress of interventional techniques, minimally invasive endovascular therapy has been applied in clinical practice for its advantages of low trauma and quick recovery, such as TurboHawk plaque resection and combined drug-coated balloon, and has achieved certain clinical efficacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficacy of TurboHawk plaque resection combined with drug-coated balloon dilation in the treatment of lower extremity arteriosclerotic occlusions in our hospital in recent years, and to evaluate its clinical efficacy and safety.
METHODS: Sixty-seven cases treated in the Affiliated Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine of Xinjiang Medical University from October 2017 to February 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. Clinical data of patients with superficial femoral atherosclerotic occlusion of lower limbs, 36 of whom underwent TurboHawk plaque circumcision combined with drugs 31 cases were treated with TurboHawk plaque circumcision combined with ordinary balloon. ABI and MLD, vascular patency rate, etc.
RESULTS: The ABI of the two groups before operation and 7 days, 3, 6 and 12 months after operation There was no significant difference (all P>0.05). The increase of ABI in the drug application group was higher than that in the common capsule group 12 months after operation Group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05, table 4). MLD before operation, 7 days after operation, 6 and 12 months after operation Comparison: there was no significant difference in MLD between the two groups before operation, 7 days after operation and 6 months after operation (all P>0.05) After 12 months, the MLD in the drug application group was higher than that in the common capsule group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The blood vessels were unobstructed. The patency rates at 3, 6 and 12 months after operation in the drug application group were 100% (36/36), 97.2% (35/36) and 91.7% respectively (33/36). The patency of the common capsule group at 3, 6 and 12 months after operation were 96.8% (30/31), 93.5% (29/31) and 77.4% respectively (24/31).
CONCLUSIONS: TurboHawk plaque circumcision is an effective method for the treatment of lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans It has the advantages of small injury, good safety and remarkable short-term curative effect, which is worthy of wide promotion in clinic.
