Simultaneous repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm and bronchogenic carcinoma using mini-invasive techniques
Piffaretti G., Tozzi M., Lomazzi C., Rivolta N., Caronno R., Castelli P.
Unit of Vascular Surgery Department of Surgery University of Insubria, Varese, Italy
Synchronous diagnosis of lung cancer and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) poses a challenging surgical management enigma; the gold standard approach remains controversial owing to the rarity of the condition and the related lack of clinical studies. Few reports describe the use of conventional repair in the simultaneous management of AAA and bronchogenic carcinoma. This report describes the use of mini-invasive approaches in simultaneous repair of AAA and bronchogenic carcinoma resection in a 70-year-old man.
