Acute renal failure after aorto-transiliac graft
Bandiera G., Cirielli C., Forletta M.
From the Department of Vascular Pathology and Surgery 3rd Division of Vascular Surgery IDI (IRCCS), Rome
The authors report a case of acute renal failure occurring on postoperative day 1 in a patient undergoing aorto-transiliac graft surgery. Renal failure was ascribed to nephrotoxic damage resulting from the performance of a series of X-rays with contrast medium. Renal failure was controlled with balanced hydration, diuretics and steroid therapy. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 16 in good general conditions and after acute renal failure had resolved.
