Subrenal abdominal aortic aneurysm in a patient with ectopic pelvic kidney
Mezzetti R., Vandone P. L., Albanese S., Bortolani E. M.
From the Chair of Clinical Surgery II, University of Milan, Milan
Few cases of subrenal abdominal aortic aneurysm are reported in the literature in patients with ectopic pelvic kidney. The surgical repair of these lesions can be tackled by perfusing the kidney with cold isoelectrolyte solution during aortic clamping. The authors report a case of subrenal abdominal aortic aneurysm associated with ectopic pelvic kidney in which this anatomical variation together with the morphology of the aneurysmatic lesion made it obligatory to use a special prosthetic reconstruction.
