Post-traumatic aneurysm of the abdominal aorta. Clinical case and review of the literature

Few cas­es of abdom­i­nal aor­tic inju­ry ­caused by a ­blunt trau­ma are report­ed in the lit­er­a­ture and ­even few­er cas­es of aor­tic aneu­rysms devel­op­ing ­after inju­ries. The ­present ­case of ­post-trau­mat­ic aor­tic aneu­rysm devel­oped ­after a car ­crash and was dis­cov­ered by acci­dent in the ­course of an ultra­sound ­scan. In ­this ­case sur­gi­cal treat­ment was suc­cess­ful. The ­paper con­cludes ­with a ­review of the lit­er­a­ture on the sub­ject.
