Role of interventional radiology in obstetric and gynecological diseases

Over the last two decades, interventional radiology (IR) has widely extended its range of applications, mainly due to its technological development. Concerning obstetric and gynecological diseases, IR techniques are nowadays adopted for the treatment of multiple pathologies both in emergency and elective settings. Apart from a mandatory high-level technical knowledge, proper patient selection and strict cooperation with gynecologists, neonatologists and anesthesiologists are the key factors to obtain the best clinical results.
