Although neoplasms of the appendix are rare, they represent a diagnostic challenge, as signs and symptoms often overlap with those of acute appendicitis, just as their appearance at imaging is often masked by concomitant inflammation. The purpose of this work was therefore to describe the anatomical-pathological and iconographic characteristics of the neoplasms of the appendix, with particular reference to the CT aspect, which is the method of choice for their staging.
