The dolichoectasia of the intracranial arteries (DEAIC) is characterized by the increase in the size or length of one or more intracranial arteries. The histological alteration at the base of this pathological entity is a rarefaction of the elastic tissue and a disappearance of the internal elastic limiting in the medium tunic of the dolichoectatic artery. Some authors have correlated DEAIC with the onset of systemic arterial ectasias. Hence the importance of proposing an angio-TC study of the neck, thorax, abdomen and lower limbs that allows the evaluation of the whole arterial system with an acceptable radiant dose for the patient.
