Hydrocephalus caused by dolichoectatic basilar artery. Case report

The ­authors ­report a ­rare ­case of dolich­oec­tat­ic bas­i­lar ­artery caus­ing hydro­ceph­a­lus by ­direct com­pres­sion of fora­men of Monro, doc­u­ment­ed by ­brain CT ­scan and MRI angio­gra­phy, treat­ed by posi­tion­ing a biven­tri­cu­lo-per­i­to­neal ­shunt. Pathogenesis, diag­nos­tic dif­fi­cul­ty and treat­ment are dis­cussed.
