Aims and scope

The Journal of Neurosurgical Sciences, a bi-monthly international, peer-reviewed scientific journal on neurosurgery,
indexed in EMBASE, PubMed/MEDLINE, Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Scopus, has an impact factor of 2.279.
It publishes original works relating to neurosurgery, with special attention to clinical and transitional neurosurgery. The
Editorial Board also encourages submission of review articles and meta-analyses. Other manuscripts accepted for review
include articles about education, surveys on the clinical aspects of a neurosurgeon’s life. Letters to the Editor on relevant
topics, illustrative cases or recently published articles are also accepted.
The Journal allows presentation of a study abstract at scientific conferences as well as pre-submission placement of a
manuscript on a preprint server. Such activities are not considered duplicate publication, but they should be mentioned in
the manuscript at the time of submission.
The Journal of Neurosurgical Sciences encourages submission of works that have not been previously published in whole
or in part. On submission, the authors must state that their work has not been deposited on a preprint server.
Papers submitted to the journal are subjected to rigorous review by neurosurgeons or other researchers expert in the field.
In addition to the article’s scientific merit, the reviewers also consider its impact on the neurosurgical community.
The Journal offers a fast and rigorous peer review process as well as open access options.
The Journal of Neurosurgical Sciences welcomes articles on a wide variety of neurosurgical topics.
