The authors focus on and analyse a number of problems linked to urinary tract reconstruction, with special reference to urethral surgery in patients suffering from hypospadias. After having examined a number of approaches used over this period, the au-thors underline the possible new applications and future lines of research offered by cell culture techniques in the fields of urology and plastic surgery.
