Fanfulla F., Taurino A. E.
Centro di Medicina del Sonno ad indirizzo cardio-respiratorio, Divisione di Pneumologia Riabilitativa, Istituto Scientifico di Montescano IRCCS, Fondazione S. Maugeri, Montescano (PV)
Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) ranks third as a cause of chronic respiratory disorders, following chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma. These and other conditions such as snoring, upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) and obstructive apnea sleep syndrome (OSAS) are often associated with chronic upper or lower airway disturbances related to chronic rhinitis or bronchial asthma. This article examines the various associations between these disorders and focuses on their diagnosis and treatment.
