Nasal continuous positive airway pressure is an effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. However, there are many areas of controversy regarding best approach, and modality. Attention to detail is required to ensure that optimal mode, interface and settings are provided. Intensive follow up and support can improve compliance.
