Video-assisted thoracoscopic segmentectomy for a slow growing lung cancer. Report of a case

We herein present the case of an 82-year-old woman who underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for the removal of lung tumor. Chest radiographs pointed out an increased tumor size even though she had been followed up for 13 years for sclerosing hemangioma of the left lung. The resected specimen showed papillary adenocarcinoma of the lung. VATS is thus considered to be the treatment option of choice for the long-term follow-up of lung tumors.
