Educational psychotherapy of the family of the schizophrenic subjects
Zoccali R., Iannuzzo G., Muscatello M. R. A., La Torre D.
The authors, after briefly considering the ''suffering'' of the schizophrenic patient's family, stress the importance of high expressed emotion on determining the familial dysfunction; moreover, they present the evaluation instrument: the ''Camberwell Family Interview''.
Since the ''high emotional temperature'' is a factor that certainly promotes schizophrenic relapses, the authors consider some psychoeducational models which have different therapeutic interventions on the family of the schizophrenic patients. These interventions have as their last goal that of teaching the relatives how to live together with the patient, managing both their anxiety and fears.
