Text analysis of psychotherapy session by computer
Mangini E., Lombardo C.
The aim of this paper, based on the E. Mergenthaler therapeutic cycle model (1996), is to develop, by computer, a software which can analyse transcriptions of psychotherapy sessions, with an identification of key moments; these phases reflect the presence of an insight, concept that is considered necessary and very important in the psychotherapy process. In conformity with the model mentioned, we needed to translate and adapt in Italian the two dictionaries containing the words to find in the text. Subsequently, after preparing the analysis instruments and the material, the model has been applied on a short-term psychoanalytic psychotheraphy.
