Acute cough is a widespread symptom which requires medical attention. Its classification is usually based on the duration: acute, subacute or chronic cough. Indeed, a failing therapy can extend the duration of the cough, while an effective therapy can abort it. Besides, acute episode of cough can conceal an undiagnosed chronic disease. In this article, we will discuss the causes and the possible therapies of acute cough.
