Mounier-Kuhn syndrome together with bronchial asthma

Mounier-Kuhn syndrome is a rare disorder, characterized by enlarged trachea and main bronchi. Patients usually present with chronic cough, sputum expectoration, and shortness of breath. Respiratory failure may also develop due to progression of the disease. Tracheobronchomegaly coexisting with asthma has not been reported, so far. This report describes a case of tracheobronchomegaly associated with bronchial asthma which progressed to respiratory failure because of pneumonia.
