Necrotizing pneumonia caused by Streptococcus milleri. Report of a case

A case of necrotized subacute pneumonia caused by Streptococcus milleri in a 39 year old man is reported. The patient was a smoker and had chronic hepatitis C virus infection. The epidemiology of community-acquired pneumonia has significantly changed in the past 20 years, and are emphasized. Moreover, the characteristics of the Streptococcus milleri group infections the leading causes of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax are reviewed
