Spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis encompass a wide range of pathology that present the surgeon with just as many difficult questions. A thorough understanding in the application of these interventions offers the surgeon the ability to treat the different pathologies and clinical presentations presented with. The purpose of this report is to review the indications for and technical descriptions of five of the most common surgical procedures utilized for the treatment of spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. Included along with the common indications and contraindications are diagrams and clinical case examples of each of the described surgical procedures.
