Patellar instability is generally pinpointed as an unusual movement of patella above the troclear groove; to better define this vague definition, Walch and Dejour and the Lyonnese school made a simple classification to develop a therapy exclusively for this pathology. Lyonnese school shows three categories of patellar instability: objective patellar instability, potential patellar instability and patellar pain syndrome. The purpose of this work is to analyze and describe one of the possible surgical techniques, splitted one in arthroscopic time and one in traditional surgery, to treat patients affected by objective patellar instability due to patella alta.
