Myxomas of the skeletal muscle are uncommon tumours of mesenchymal origin. They are usually solitary, asymptomatic and slow-growing masses. Because of their infrequent occurrence, these tumours may not even be suspected after radiological investigations and so they can clinically mimic other lesions having different origins and behaviour. The authors report a rare case of intramuscular myxoma that occurred in the right pectineus muscle in a 51-year-old female.
