Endometrial carcinoma and bone metastases. Diagnostic and clinical characteristics

Bone metastases from endometrial carcinoma are rather rare (1% in the appendicular skeleton). A case, personally observed is reported and the clinical features, diagnostic procedures and surgical treatment are analysed. Due to lesion's dimension and to the quick onset of an other lesion into the distal ipsilateral femoral metaphysis, the limb salvage was not possible and amputation was performed. At 2 years follow-up the patient didn't show local recurrence of the disease and no other bone metastases have been observed.
