The approach to calcaneal fractures has always been debated as the ideal treatment for the fact that the fracture brings frequent vascular complication and vitious consolidations with functional disability conditioning heavily the daily-life. The aim of this work was to define the guidelines of surgical approach in consideration of thirty-years experience from 'Orthopaedic and Traumatologic Clinc of University of Milan' directed by Prof. Lanzetta.
