PDF

The neurovisual system requires high levels of energy to go on functioning correctly as well as for regenerating itself. In case of low vision, the metabolic requirements can steeply increase to allow the re-connection between the retinal well functioning areas contiguous to the lesions and the cortical areas devoted to vision of details. The authors describe the action of some vitamins, minerals and aminoacids that can have a major action to help this process.
