After a brief review of the epidemiology of pulmonary angiothrombosis, with data that confirm a relatively high incidence and very high level of danger, the basic factors of prevention, diagnosis and therapy for deep venous thrombosis (the first etiopathogenic stage), are discussed. The medical treatment should start by identifying the element of risk, and then, by means of specialist and laboratory help and instrumental examinations, allow the best prophylactic treatment while avoiding those inappropriate choices and behaviors that lead to hypotheses of malpractice.
