Permanent impairment evaluation of knee lesions: considerations on 93 cases

Verzeletti A., Gasparini F., Castagnoli P., De Ferrari F.

Medicina Legale Università degli Studi di Brescia, Brescia, Italia

PDF

In this work a comparative analysis among four different barèmes regarding the evaluation of permanent impairment was performed. It was not a “theoretical” and “virtual” comparison among diagnostic categories, but a check of active application of different barèmes on 93 cases, whose epidemiological data represented the guide to the right interpretation of the outcomes. In the legal-medical field a firm assessment method had recently developed. Usually percentage tables are used to get the maximum scientific and assessment homogeneity in case of infirmity diagnosis equality. Maybe it could be necessary to uniform the permanent impairment evaluation criteria, to achieve law harmonisation in the EU.
