PDF

Aim. This study is based on statistical studies previously made by other authors concerning murder cases. However, the study has been limited exclusively to the analysis of cases of under-age victims of homicide.
Methods. The period under investigation is included between years 1981 and 2001. The necessary data for the statistical abalysis have been obtained from the Medical Legal registers of the Department of Anatomy, Pharmacology and Legal Medicine of the University of Turin. Where possible, data of the single cases have been examined also with the aid of material from other sources such as reports from court experts, photographies and Police records. In this way, 27 cases of homicide have been identified in the examined period. The sex, age and social status of the victims have been studied as well as the profession or possible illicit activities practiced by the victims. Besides, where possible, the causes of death, the modalities of execution of the homicide and the motive have been examined. The data obtained have been submitted to statistical analysis by means of SPSS program.
