Nat­ural ­killer (NK) ­cell inhib­i­tory recep­tors (­INKR) ­have ­been ­described to be detect­able ­both on NK ­cells and on a ­subset of ­normal ­human T-lym­pho­cytes. To eval­uate the fre­quency of ­tumor infil­trating lym­pho­cytes ­expressing ­INKR in a ­group of sam­ples ­derived ­from ­human non ­small ­cell ­lung ­cancer, a cytof­lu­or­i­metric anal­ysis was per­formed. ­Using ­this ­approach, it has ­been ­observed ­that T-­cells ­expressing ­INKR are oli­goc­lonal and ­express a ­memory phe­no­type on ­their sur­face. The fre­quency of ­INKR in TIL sig­nif­i­cantly dif­fers ­from ­that ­observed in autol­o­gous periph­eral ­blood sam­ples. The pres­ence of ­INKR pos­i­tive ­cells ­could sig­nif­i­cantly inter­fere ­with adop­tive immu­no­therapy pro­to­cols for the con­trol of non ­small ­cell ­lung ­cancer ­spread.
