Ultrathin Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (UT-DSAEK) procedure, defined as DSAEK employing grafts 100 µm thick or thinner, is a surgery that combines the visual outcomes of DMEK with the technical ease of DSAEK. Graft can be prepared using standard equipment, and the surgery itself in done not unlike conventional DSAEK. As eye banks are learning to provide ultrathin grafts with minimal tissue loss rates, this procedure holds promise to become the gold standard of endothelial keratoplasty.
