Iridocorneal-endothelial syndrome (ICE syndrome) is a disease of the ocular anterior segment characterized by a “hammered-silver” appearance of the corneal endothelium, corneal failure, glaucoma, and iris destruction. ICE syndrome is actually a grouping of three closely linked conditions: iris nevus (or Cogan-Reese) syndrome; Chandler’s syndrome; and progressive iris atrophy. Our review aims to collect the various etiopathogenic theories about this syndrome and to describe the main treatment modalities in literature.
