Entropion: didactical approach

Ectropion consists of an eversion of the margin of the eyelid resulting in the exposure of a varying amount of the conjunctival surface. We can classify ectropion in: cicatricial, paralytic, senile, spasmodic. In this article we will describe some of the most important techniques in order to correct ectropion: U sutures with or without electrocautery, argon laser in 1st grade ectropion, diamonds conjunctival resection in lacrimal ectropion, Kuhnt-Szymanowski technique, lateral tarsal strip. We will describe also Arion technique.
