When even electricity is causing mischief!

Laboratory tests contribute significantly to clinical decision making. Despite the high degree of safety achieved in producing clinically useful results, there are still areas of uncertainty that can create major critical issues. The purpose of this work is to report an example of this “criticality” with laboratory instrument malfunctions, with consequences on the production of laboratory data, caused by a disturbance conveyed through the electrical supply voltage.
