Isolated lesser trochanter fracture in a 14 years old soccer player

Isolated lesser trochanter fractures are rare lesions typical of children and adolescents, usually caused by a traction force by iliopsoas muscle tipical of sprinters, hurdles runners and soccer players. It is reported the case of a 14-year-old boy with isolated lesser trochanter avulsion caused by a jump during a football game. A conservative treatment was applied. Primary prevention, actually no much valued and not realized in this case, could significantly reduce the risk of injury. Attention to an accurate and specific stretching of the muscles involved in this joint is called.
