Functional evaluation of post-traumatic ankle instability
Corradini C., Lanzani E., Lanzetta A.
Clinica Ortopedica e Traumatologica, Università degli Studi, Milano, Centro Traumatologia dello Sport, Istituto Ortopedico G. Pini, Milano
The motor incoordination following ankle sprains is due not only to the injury of the ligaments but especially to proprioceptive deficits as well.
Therefore the correct diagnosis must be achieved by clinical tests, the current radiographic methods and an objective functional evaluation.
The unsteady postural footboard can be considered as an useful instrument for this aim.
