Central mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the mandible is one of the rare salivary gland tumors with only 147 cases being reported in the literature. Multiple confounding etiologies have been described in the literature with origin from metaplastic odontogenic epithelium being the most accepted etiology. Various management modalities have been reported in the literature that range from curettage to resection with neck dissection and postoperative radiation. There is no consensus on a definitive management modality for this lesion that will positively impact the prognosis. The aim of the current paper was to present a case of CMEC of mandible and demystify the ambiguity in relation to the management of the same.
