The Messini method: thermo-prevention of commons colds and proposal for a new and simple form of individual prevention

Sergio MESSINI 1, 2

1 Bolzano Women’s Health Center, SPSS Claudiana, Bolzano, Italy; 2 Sacred Heart Catholic University, Rome, Italy

Seasonal respiratory diseases, the common cold in the first place, are generally considered trivial but have a serious social and economic impact. The Messini thermal prevention method is presented; it consists of self-heating the upper respiratory tract to over 40 °C several times daily, by means of hot air flows at 70-80°C, such as to reduce the viral contaminant share of cryophilic viruses, reducing or preventing their multiplication and thereby stopping the evolution from contamination to infection. The aim of the present paper was to promote interest in the method and to develop technical studies on this topic, in particular, considering the potential importance; also, with regard to prevention strategies against the Coronavirus infections.
